Terms, conditions, and coverage
This page organizes the contract content and coverage options provided by HM Riders so customers can review them before booking.
Important
Coverage becomes invalid if the renter breaches the contract rules. Basic CDW coverage is mandatory according to the provided document.
Main clauses
First: Parties
The lessor is HM Riders Renta Panama. The renter is the natural person or legal entity included in the rental document.
Second: Purpose of the contract
The purpose of this contract is the rental of the vehicle together with its tools, parts, and accessories according to the inventory detailed in the rental document.
The renter receives the vehicle to their full satisfaction and in good mechanical and operating condition.
Third: Rental term
The rental begins when the vehicle is delivered to the renter on the date stated in the rental document and ends when it is returned to an authorized office and schedule of the lessor.
If the renter wishes to extend the use of the vehicle, they must request an extension before the contract expires.
The lessor may immediately recover possession of the vehicle if it detects fraud, unlawful use, contractual breach, legal violations, or any relevant risk.
Fourth: Contract value
The renter must pay the full amount resulting from rates, charges, fines, court costs, damages, fees, and any other applicable concepts calculated until the vehicle is returned to the lessor's satisfaction.
Fifth: Payment method
The renter must pay at the end of the rental or whenever the lessor requires it, according to the settlement stated in the rental document.
The lessor may use the security deposit to cover any outstanding balance.
Sixth: Security deposit
In cases determined by the lessor, the renter must provide a sum of money to guarantee payment of all contractual obligations.
The lessor may apply that deposit to cover vehicle damage, highway toll use, fuel, or any other charges generated during the rental.
Responsibility and deposit
The renter is directly responsible for the vehicle, its accessories, and any damage caused during the contract period, including loss of use and legal fees when applicable.
Acceptance and payment of coverage or benefits becomes void if the renter breaches the contract obligations, especially those regarding use, custody, accident, loss, or theft.
The renter must comply with all insurance policy limitations and restrictions; otherwise, they assume all liabilities and risks directly.
Any objects, property, or money left inside the vehicle remain under the renter's sole responsibility.
Renter obligations
Keep the rental account up to date.
Return the vehicle on the agreed date with tools, equipment, and accessories in the same good condition in which it was received.
Do not drive negligently, recklessly, at excessive speed, through flooded streets, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in violation of traffic regulations.
Stop immediately and report any issue if the dashboard lights indicate vehicle malfunction.
Do not allow unauthorized people listed outside the contract to drive the vehicle.
Do not use the vehicle in competitions, speed tests, paid transport, towing, sub-rental, driving lessons, or illegal or dangerous activities.
Do not take the vehicle outside Panama or drive it on trails, sand, or unpaved roads.
Remove the keys, lock the doors, and care for the vehicle prudently without handing it to unauthorized third parties.
Accident, loss, or theft
Report the event in writing to the lessor within 12 hours, including a summary and identification of any third parties involved.
Obtain a record from the administrative or police authority, or file a criminal complaint when applicable.
Deliver to the lessor any summons, report, claim, or document related to the event.
Refrain from making payments to third parties, reaching settlements, or admitting liability for yourself or the lessor.
Cooperate with the lessor and the insurer in the investigation and defense of the case.
If no extension is made after 48 hours overdue, the company will charge an additional $20 per overdue day.
In the event of a traffic accident, the customer authorizes the lessor to manage representation before administrative or judicial authorities.
Coverage
Available benefits
All coverage depends on strict compliance with the rental agreement.
Basic coverage
CDWPartial coverage for damage caused to the motorcycle only in collisions with another moving vehicle, provided the damage exceeds the $500 deductible plus tax.
It does not cover total or partial theft of the rental motorcycle, nor parts or accessories.
It covers up to $10,000 in third-party damages as long as the renter complies with all rules, conditions, and clauses of the agreement.
Medium coverage
PDWIncludes the basic CDW benefits and reduces customer responsibility to $0.00 for damage caused only with another moving vehicle.
It does cover total theft, not partial theft, and damage caused by fixed objects, animals, rollovers, hit-and-run collisions, with a $500 deductible plus tax.
It applies only if the renter complies with all rules, conditions, and clauses of the agreement.
Deductible waiver coverage
LDWIncludes the benefits of CDW and PDW.
